A Little Orchard Magic
There’s something a little magical about our apple orchard. The trees are wonderfully old, with big, gnarled trunks and branches stretching out in every direction, almost as if they’ve grown straight out of a fairytale. Each tree has its own character, and wandering beneath their twisting branches feels like stepping into another time. It’s the kind of place where you half expect to stumble upon a tiny woodland cottage or a storybook character gathering apples right alongside you.
These beautiful old trees grow our beloved Newtown Pippin apples! This heirloom variety has been around for centuries and is just as lovely in the kitchen as it is hanging from the branches. They're especially wonderful for making cider and apple pie, which sounds like a pretty perfect excuse to fill a basket or two.
Gathering apples by hand, imagining all the pies, warm spices, and cozy autumn afternoons to come, is one of our favorite seasonal rituals. If you need us, we’ll be right here, pretending we live in a fairytale and picking just one more apple.
Meet the dream team:
A Little Pear, a Little Magic: The Beeswax Candle
Of course, the orchard has more to offer than apples! Our very own pears inspired another little treasure we’ve been loving: the pear-shaped beeswax candles.
Made from 100% beeswax, each candle begins with a mold shaped and created from the pears grown right here in our garden. From there, every single one is hand-painted, giving each little pear its own personality. We love finding ways to bring a bit of the garden indoors, especially when it means turning something that grows here into something you can treasure long after the season has passed.
Sweet, sculptural, and just a little whimsical, these pear candles feel like tiny keepsakes from the orchard. They're almost too cute to burn, and we certainly wouldn't blame anyone for wanting to tuck one onto a kitchen shelf, style it on a dining table, or save it for a cozy autumn gathering.
A Little Sip of the Garden
And for the perfect ending to an afternoon spent wandering the orchard, we have our Garden Bar! A new addition to the garden this season, it’s become such a lovely spot to pause, sip, and stay awhile. The menu features a variety of coffees, teas, and garden sodas, each with a little botanical touch. From house-made floral and fruit syrups to fresh garnishes inspired by what’s growing around us, every sip brings a little taste of the garden to your glass.
Picture this: a warm cup of botanical coffee in hand, a sweet floral quote on the cup to brighten your evening, and the golden light settling over the orchard after harvesting fruit. It’s the kind of simple pleasure that makes you want to linger just a little longer. And really, after a day of apple picking and wandering beneath the old trees, what better way to end the evening than with a little something sweet from the Garden Bar?
