Where the Pear Blooms Lead Us

As we gear up for our 5th Annual Pear Bloom Run, we’re basically checking the orchard every five minutes waiting for those first blossoms to pop. Spring on the farm feels like opening day, and nothing says “the season has officially begun” quite like pear trees exploding into bloom.

So while we count down to this year’s run, let’s rewind to last spring — because wow, what a day.

THE DREAM TEAM

Photography: Pickles Photography

Coffee: Kaile’a Coffee truck

Cones & Signs: Columbia Gorge Running Club

Picnic: Daisi & Co

Cookies: Dani’s Kitchen Shop

It truly takes a village to bring a day like this to life, and we are so grateful for the incredible vendors and friends who made it extra special. Amy, from Pickles Photography, captured every joyful moment and the orchard in all its bloom-filled beauty — memories we’ll cherish all year long. Kaile’a Coffee Truck kept our courtyard cozy and energized with coffee and light refreshments that were a lifesaver on that crisp spring morning. The Columbia Gorge Running Club generously lent us their cones and trail signs to guide runners smoothly through the orchard. Ryleigh, from Daisi & Co, created a stunning picnic setup that felt straight out of a spring daydream, and Dani’s Kitchen Shop crafted the most beautiful (and delicious!) floral sugar cookies featuring our logo. We’re endlessly thankful for this talented community who helped turn a simple run into such a magical celebration.

Marigold Surprise, Mountain Views & a Perfect Finish

When the race began, runners made their way through the orchard beneath a canopy of white pear blooms — but right in the middle of the course, we had a little surprise waiting. Marigold garlands hung from the trees, adding bright pops of orange and gold against the soft white blooms. It was colorful, unexpected, and instantly turned the orchard into a full-on spring celebration.

And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, the clouds parted. The sun came pouring through, revealing a stunning view of Mount Hood standing tall in the distance. We won’t say we planned the dramatic timing… but it felt meant to be.

As runners crossed the finish line, each was handed a fresh pear from our orchard — crisp, juicy, and the perfect reward for getting those miles in before most people had even finished breakfast.

Then came everyone’s favorite part: the Tulip Tot Run. The littles lined up right in the middle of the orchard, geared up and ready to go. When the race started, they took off like lightning — tiny legs pumping, giggles filling the air, and the loudest cheering section you’ve ever heard. All around them, the tulips were in full bloom, bright and bold and completely stealing the show. Their colors were almost too beautiful to be real, and we simply couldn’t resist harvesting and sharing them. 🌷

Blooms, Bouquets & Big Smiles

After the races, no one rushed off. Guests wandered through the tulips to u-pick their own bouquets, colored our chalk mural wall, snapped photos with their custom bibs, and soaked up every last bit of spring magic.

Armfuls of flowers left the farm that day — along with tired legs, happy hearts, and memories we’re still smiling about.

It was one of those days that reminds us why we do this: blooms everywhere, laughter echoing through the orchard, and community gathered under trees that waited all winter to put on a show.

Now we’re counting down again… watching those branches… and getting ready to do it all over.
